Introducing "No Cancer November"
At Nunes Partners, we believe life happens for you, not to you. This belief was put to the test in the fall of 2022 when Leo, at just 49, received a prostate cancer diagnosis. It was a stark reminder that cancer knows no bounds and can strike anyone, anytime. During this journey, we realized a significant gap in resources for men facing prostate cancer. While Brandy, as the Sue’s Gift Board President, saw ample support for women with gynecologic cancers, men had far fewer resources. This wake-up call inspired us to take action.
Determined to bridge this gap, we created the “No Cancer November” fundraiser. This annual event has a dual purpose: raising awareness about the critical importance of resources and early detection for prostate and gynecologic cancers, and destigmatizing conversations around these diseases.
The Nunes Foundation: Making a Difference
In 2024, we established the Nunes Foundation with a mission to raise awareness and resources for various charitable causes. Through strong community connections and partnerships, we spotlight nonprofits providing essential resources to our community. Our foundation supports a wide range of initiatives, including human services, animal welfare, and environmental impact.
Why "No Cancer November " Matters
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men, the same odds as women getting breast cancer, yet it remains under-discussed. September is prostate cancer awareness month, but it doesn’t receive the same visibility as other cancers. Similarly, gynecologic cancers often get overshadowed by breast cancer, despite being more fatal due to late detection. By focusing on these causes during our casino night, we aim to bring much-needed attention and support to these critical health issues.

- 2023: We donated $7,500!
- 2024 Goal: $10,000!
